Behavior analysis has recently become the focus of mainstream media attention.
Articles in Forbes and Business Insider have put a spotlight on the work that we do. Our clients and families have always appreciated the impact that we have on their lives, but it is great to see that our work is gaining widespread recognition as meaningful.
“What’s that?” is a common response to my reply of “I’m a behavior analyst” when being asked what I do. I find myself having to define or give specifics – “I work with kids who have special needs” or “I help clients with special needs learn” or “I help teach clients and their families how to manage behaviors.”
That would usually be met with, “That’s really nice.” 🙂
Hopefully, with more attention to our vocation, we can attract more practitioners to our field. This is a fast-growing field that needs people who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others. It’s not easy, but boy, is it rewarding!
If you think you have what it takes, we invite you to become part of the A.G.E.S. Team!
